The world blurs slightly and the living planet intensifies it’s presence. Something draws the light and the focus. It enters the ear first, a buzzing maybe or a beating of wings.
A scattering of dragonflies flutter across my closed eyelids. One of them, so self absorbed, hitches a ride on a floating leaf,
and both of us drift downstream.

Aren't they amazing? Here also, it's dragonflies' season, and I have spent time waiting for their swift flight to pause long enough to catch their beautiful blue.
Beautiful images.
Amelie, I took those photos on the River Dronne in France….a perfect dreamy day…..thank you and enjoy them!
What a blue beauties!
Janneke there is something SO BLUE about them! Thank you hope you are enjoying your summer!
somewhere between royal and midnight blue
Midnight blue is a phrase I must borrow! Thanks Diane:~)
So very beautiful, Catherine
I was thinking (like Mary Oliver):
so this is how you swim inward,
so this is how you flow outward,
so this is how you pray.
That's beautiful, thank you for reminding me of it:~))
Your title fits the text and images perfectly. Those dragonflies are an incredible blue. The one of them flying is wonderful.
Thank you Kim, a day spent mesmerised by dragonflies in France. They seemed far more amenable to being photographed!!
beautiful! Dragonflies are so magical!
We have much smaller blue ones in Ireland…….French dragonflies are so chic in their electric hues……
such dreamy images …. I love thinking of you there on the riverbank in France!
Dear Susan I was snoozing and dreaming away a whole day……what a luxury…..
Those velvety dragonflies are so regal! What magic is in this world! When I saw your title I was reminded of what a psychologist friend told me about deep healing, she called it "living in the parasympathetic system: drifting and dreaming." As opposed to the sympathetic nervous system which is pretty much all about "doing."
Thanks Susie, I'm sure I feel the difference daily!! I probably jump between each state. But that day it was all dreamy and lush…..thanks Susie for your wonderful phrase "velvety dragonflies." Perfect!
I am having a quadruple ahhhh moment here Catherine. Don't let me wake!
Ahhhh lovely!! You make me smile Jane:~)
That is the most beautiful dragonfly…what a deep blue and such magical words to accompany him!
