The light circled on her breaking waves, although the sky was overcast and dark. The swelling surf roared and foamy breakers rushed onto the shore. My sister pointed her camera in every direction. Just seeing the sea made us both happy.
I remember every summer rushing with open arms into her embrace. That same vast ocean. Saying, I love you!! I am still here. You are too powerful to try to understand, so is everything. But I don't even care!!!
The sea will have that effect.......
Such a beautiful rugged coastline - I can imagine waves like that have the most amazing healing effect.

Lovely, lovely photos. The north sea is breathtaking and bit scary, just like life.
ReplyDeleteCatherine this took my breath away...as a child I was drawn to the ocean and played in it as a friend...it gave me life....I try to visit this friend when I can but not often enough...it is life itself and brings new life to those of us that know its love!! Thank you for bringing it back to me...
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are absolutely stunning. Wow.
ReplyDeleteYour images capture the power and the majesty of the sea. Would love to experience those crashing waves as it's a much calmer ocean when it reaches our coast.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes for 2013.
The light in these photos is really beautiful. I have always found the ocean to be beautiful but also a little intimidating! (probably because I can't swim very well, so prefer to watch it from the safety of the shore ;).
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful 2013!

I can stare for hours at the sea, it's so powerful, intimidating and even a bit scaring; but I love to be there especially when it's rough! Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteWish you all the best for 2013!
Amazing photos! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI want to walk down to this sea, Catherine. I would feel the same things you have expressed and shown so beautifully here. The sea calms my soul...even midst its turbulence. It reminds me that Someone is greater than I and knows who I am!
ReplyDeleteI was born in a house not far from an estuary. I think my first breath must have been one of salt air. After thirty years of living inland I have moved to a house overlooking the sea. I love everything about it, the sound, the smell, the spray, the taste.
ReplyDeleteI love the sea more than anything and I can almost taste it when I look at these images, I hope there will be many more in 2013. Happy New Year x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and photos. Oh how I love the ocean.
ReplyDeleteWishing you great adventures in 2013.
Kindly,
Jenny
