......and just at that moment......

Special times come and go so fast. The one beautiful evening this summer. That last photo opportunity of the day. The final moments of the slithering sinking sun.

After a pet day on Rossbeigh Strand, that elusive sun is tracked until it's very last golden seconds of light. Lads stop playing football on the sand and have a few beers. A woman lingers at the water's edge of her evening swim, absorbed. Now the cameras of all shapes and sizes are lined up and at the ready.

It seems as if we all pause.....and just at that moment, there is so much love and gratitude for all of this, so much, I think I can feel it in the air..........

  2. I too enjoy seeing sunsets, though the sunrises are the best here on the shores of Lake Michigan. Something about the quieting down of the day that is good for the soul. Jack

  7. You have captured some beautiful golden moments here - the sort that make summer memories.
Did you see the interesting piece in the Irish Times that our summers are so disappointing, not just
because of the weather but because of our expectations?

    1. Mairead that is so interesting because I found this year that my attitude had to change and I had to dig deep to appreciate an ordinary summer's day eg one that was mainly dryish.....and eventually I did:~)

  9. As I am reading this I am witnessing a sunrise...the sky is a muted peachy orange glowing through the trees....the brilliance of the sun waking us or blessing us with its incredible colors at sunset seem to bring such a special spiritual feeing....you captured the feelings of all those on the beach...the best place to see the setting of the day!

  13. Yes, sunsets start ever so slowly, slowly and then all of a sudden - faster - and plop! the sun's gone. You've captured magnificent colours in your Irish sunset and the people shots are wonderful too. Thanks!
